Let's all take a pause....
During training camp, when the whole team is together, that's when players know, You're either one of us, or you're not. This is not an indictment against quality pros like PJ Walker and Chase Claypool. They are consummate professionals who came here to do a job.
But players know...They know if you're family. They know if you want to be here.
Being an undrafted rookie from a Division II school, the odds were stacked so far against Tyson Bagent, but one thing was for sure, he was one of us...He just didn't know it yet.
He wasn't supposed to make it this far, with three QB's already on the roster, but this is where family bonds are made. The team roots for the underdog, the UDFA trying to do whatever he can just to get noticed. Living in and enjoying the moment. Knowing cut day is coming. But not knowing you got family, every one of them is gonna move the moon out of orbit for you, Justin Fields, Nathan Peterman, and even QB Coach Andrew Janocko.
They wanted him on this team, so much so, Peterman took the waiver slip to make room for him.
See? That's family!
Which leads me to the fans.
How are you pitting brother against brother? They family! You think they're trying to compete against each other, or make each other better, for the greater good?
The amount of vitriol and divisiveness is not only completely off base, it's taking away from an outstanding game by D'Onta Foreman and the defense!
Everyone wanted to play hard with Tyson, because they want him here. Justin wants him here! If Tyson plays well, he stays! This is Effing Family! (I almost said the F word).
This is also Justin's team, picking up the option year is a no brainer. We really don't know the ceiling on Justin, their might not be one, but I'll bet my last dollar his little brother Tyson will ball 'till he fall for him.
Chicago vs Everybody.
